The CNG variant of the Tata Nano has finally arrived. Tata have officially launched the new Nano emax in the market today.
This CNG variant of the Nano was in the pipeline for quite some time as part of the firms Horizonext strategy. The Nano emax houses a 32-litre CNG tank which is stated to provide an overall range of a whopping 400 km, with a claimed 36 km/kg efficiency. The 624cc, twin-cylinder stays put, but now makes 32.5 PS and 50 Nm of torque on gas, as claimed by Tata officials.
The Nano emax is quite similar to the standard Nano with only two distinguishing elements – The CNG toggle switch and a green surround for the speedo. The Tata Nano emax will be available in two variants – CX and LX – priced at Rs 2.45 lakh and Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) respectively.
