To mark one year since the launch of Toyota’s popular Innova Crysta MPV, and 85,000 units sold in this period, Toyota Kirloskar India have launched an additional top-end variant of the car in this more sporty guise. Christened the Innova Touring Sport, this version of the Innova Crysta is priced from Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
Changes to the Touring Sport are purely aesthetic in nature, and include a new Wildfire (red) paint job, and the option of the White Pearl Crystal Shine colour as well, chrome accents on the blacked-out grille, bumpers and tail-gate, and cladding all-round. Further changes to the exterior include smoked headlamps, blackened B- and C-pillars, new alloy wheels in matte black, and a pair of dual-tone wing mirrors.
The visual changes continue on the inside with the Touring Sport available only in the six-seat arrangement with captain seats in the second row, all the seating is draped in exclusive black leather with red stitching. In fact, the red stitching is found on the steering wheel, console box and more, and even the Touring Sport’s dash has a red wood finish, and the TFT info console too is awash in a red glow.
The Touring Sport is available in four variants two petrol and two diesel variants with a manual and automatic gearbox option each. Mechanically though, the car is identical to the the Innova Crysta, and as such is powered by the same four-cylinder 2.8-litre turbo-diesel mated to a six-speed auto ‘box or a 2.4-litre manual with a five-speed shifter, or a 2.7-litre naturally aspirated petrol option with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
