Porsche have introduced the most agile Macan yet, the new GTS.
At the Tokyo Motor Show, Porsche introduce the Macan GTS – to be positioned between the S and Turbo – to be their red-hot sports crossover and further the performance of the Macan S, while being more accessible than the Macan Turbo, which, as we’ve experienced, is really a different kind of something.
The new Macan GTS is powered by a 360-PS version of the 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine found in the S (with 340 PS) and in the Turbo (with 400 PS). The new GTS gets the seven-speed twin-clutch automatic or Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) driving all four wheels, as well as Porsche Traction Management, which splits the power actively between the four wheels for the best results. The Macan GTS also sits lower than the S, making for a slippier-er aero profile and lower centre of gravity. The mixed rubber on 20″ wheels should afford good grip and keep the spirited drive going, even around corners.
We can expect the Macan GTS to arrive in India next year priced at around Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom). Porsche presently have the Macan Diesel at Rs 98.18 lakh and the Macan Turbo at Rs 1.08 crore, both ex-showroom, on sale in India.
