Four brave women set out on an adventurous trip to create awareness on women empowerment. Dr Najma Heptulla, Governor of Manipur, got up a team of four adventurous women: Meenakshi Aravind, Mookambika Rathinam, Ruckmani V and Priya Rajpal in the Tata Hexa to complete this ‘XPD 24-70’ mission from Imphal, the capital of Manipur. These women were sent with an aim to raise funds for the Rotary India Literacy Mission to recall and show respect to the 70th anniversary of Indian independence.

To complete this epic journey the women travelled in the Tata Hexa. This beast was chosen for its good comfort and the on-road and off-road capabilities. Tata Motors themselves have sponsored this vehicle for this adventurous journey; they have also provided service support to the team.

Coming back to the vehicle, Tata Hexa is fit with a next-gen 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 turbo-diesel engine which gives good performance. This car is also equipped with four different drive modes: Auto, Comfort, Dynamic, and Rough road, which will come in handy considering that they will be driving through non-tarred roads, forests, streams, rocky terrain, and even dunes, covering over 400 kilometres a day.

Meenakshi Aravind, one of the four intrepid women, “Tata Hexa’s maiden voyage across international borders and we are very happy to be a part of this.”

The four women will go through 24 countries and cover 24,000 km in 70 days across eight different time-zones.
