Škoda Auto India have introduced the third generation Superb with a choice of petrol and diesel engines from Rs. 22.68 lakhs (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The new car has a longer wheelbase and wider track than its predecessor, further increasing the already class-leading interior space, as well as the boot volume which is now up to 625 litres. Škoda claim improved economy owing to the improved aerodynamics that result in a drag coefficient of 0.275, lower weight, and the new 1.8 TSI and 2.0 TDI engines that manage to be more frugal than the outgoing version, but make up to 20 per cent more power.
The 1.8 TSI turbo-petrol variant makes 180 PS, and is available with six-speed manual transmission that transfers 320 Nm of torque to the wheels, or a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission that handles 250 Nm. The 2.0 TDI turbo-diesel powerplant is available only with the six-speed DSG auto ‘box and now makes 177 PS and 350 Nm of torque.

2.0 TDI Diesel L&K A/T: Rs 29.36 lakh
