Maruti Suzuki’s first Bharat Stage IV compliant model goes on sale
The Ritz is Suzuki’s fifth global model to have hit the Indian soil. While the diesel mill is the same 1.3-litre 75PS DDiS from the Swift, the petrol variant comes with the new 1.2-litre K12 series of engines. The 85PS petrol powerplant is the first Bharat Stage IV compliant engine from Maruti Suzuki and is E10 fuel ready as well. 95 percent of component localization has helped Suzuki price the tall-boy between Rs 3.99 to 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) thus making it slightly cheaper than the Swift. Based on the Swift’s underpinnings, Suzuki believes that this third tall-boy (after the Wagon R and Estilo) to roll out of their factory will churn out good sales numbers.
