French car-maker to jump on small car bandwagon

The french car manufacturers will make their début in the mass market to garner volumes with their locally produced car models. Currently the company is busy completing the final stage of testing its all-new small car based on the V-platform that underpins the nissan Micra and the recently launched sunny. in all probability it could be the Modus hatchback, sold by renault internationally, and is scheduled for an early 2012 launch. The small car will be fine-tuned for india, cost more than the Micra and be pitted against the new Maruti suzuki swift and the hyundai i20.
Renault’s fourth product will be the entry-level SUV Duster, to be launched in mid-2012, which will compete with the Mahindra scorpio and tata safari. this will be followed by a new sedan that will be positioned between the Volkswagen Vento and the swift dZire. in all, 12 products are likely to be offered by 2014 by the french company.
