Renault are all set to unveil a new concept car at the upcoming Johannesburg International Motor Show on October 16, the Duster Detour.
This highly anticipated concept is based on Renault’s popular compact SUV, the Duster, and has been developed in collaboration with an acclaimed design studio based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Officials at Renault have described the Detour concept as a ‘spectacular show-car’.
Putting Renault’s flamboyant description aside, the teaser image reveals quite a lot from this Duster concept. The vehicle sports an orange exterior colour, LED tail lamps, black five-spoke alloy wheels with orange accents, revised headlamps and a new set of fog lights mounted under the front grille. Boy do we feel that this Duster is all about the bling and the oomph!
Speaking to the media about this concept, Geoffrey Gardiner, Director, Renault Design stated, “We’ve had an enormous amount of fun in integrating the key design equipment and eye-catching elements that have gone in to making up the Renault Duster Detour, its all about being a fun and futuristic drive”.
The Renault Duster is one of the most popular vehicles worldwide. Whether or not it goes into production, existing and prospective Duster owners can certainly take some inspiration on turning up the heat on their ride.
