If you are in the market for a Datsun redi-GO, it might be worth your while to book the bigger 1.0-litre model ahead of its tentative launch later this month. Customers can book the car with a fully refundable deposit of Rs 10,000 at all Nissan and Datsun dealerships.
Datsun have promised to begin delivery of the cars from July 26 onwards, hinting at a launch later this month. Earlier, we had published an article about the new redi-GO which encompassed all of the changes it has received. Word on the street is that the price difference between the current model and the new 1.0-litre will be about Rs 25,000.
The current model is powered by a 800-cc, three-cylinder, Intelligent Spark Automated Technology (ISAT) engine that produces 54 PS and a peak torque of 72 Nm. The front wheels are driven through a five-speed manual gearbox. The new car will have a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder ISAT engine with 68 PS and 91 Nm, and will continue to use the same gearbox.
Jerome Saigot, Vice President, Datsun India said, “At Datsun, we are constantly striving to challenge the status quo and disrupt conventional thinking about the entry car segment in India. Today’s youth want a car that shows their personality with style, and redi-GO 1.0L is ready to meet their needs with more power and convenience.”
