Luxury is a lifestyle, and it needs a symbol. The Bentley name is one such prime symbol of luxury, finesse and grandeur in the automotive sector. At present, Bentley are gearing up to release their all-new Flying Spur and it sure has spurred-up our interest by releasing a new teaser of the car’s interior, focusing on the upholstery. Bentley are offering what they call the world’s first three-dimensional, textured leather upholstery.

Bentley are describing the new Flying Spur as “a ground-up development that pushes the boundaries of both technology and craftsmanship to deliver segment-defining levels of performance and refinement.”

On its release, the all-new Bentley Flying Spur would go toe-to-toe with the likes of the Maybach S 650 and perhaps even the Rolls-Royce Ghost. The Flying Spur’s recent past has been widely perceived as the Continental GT’s four-door counterpart, and, more so today than ever before, the upcoming Flying Spur will be more closely related to the Continental GT under its skin. According to sources and the teaser images, this car is going to sport a very distinctive design, which will make it a stand-alone model in its own way.

Bentley Flying Spur

This past April, Bentley released a teaser picture of the Flying Spur’s exterior silhouette which highlighted the prominent arcs and lines of the car. Along with that picture, Bentley also released a video of their all-new retractable “winged B” hood ornament with decorative crystalline wings. Interestingly, the new Bentley Flying Spur will be the first car from the stable of Bentley to come with this kind of retractable hood ornament, which is introduced in order to curb the threat of theft.

Bentley Flying Spur

We expect the new Bentley Flying Spur to be launched with the brand’s signature turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 petrol with 635 PS and 900 Nm. Following that should be the 550-PS twin-turbo V8 petrol engine and, perhaps, even the plug-in hybrid powertrain based around the 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine seen in the Bentayga Hybrid further down the line. Later on, we can expect the Flying Spur Speed iteration, the highest performance version of the Flying Spur range, should environmental regulations permit it.
