MINI India announced the launch of the new Countryman D, which will come in via the CBU route, priced at Rs 36.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Looks do matter and the Countryman certainly lives upto the connotation. On the outside, the Countryman sports a redesigned hexagonal front grille, a contoured hood, large xenon headlamps with LED fog lamps, 17-inch alloys, a vertical light cluster at the rear, and high ground clearance, all of which add up to give the Countryman a sporty and muscular appeal.
The interior gets a few changes which include a height-adjustable leather driver seat, multi-functional steering wheel and an updated infotainment system.
The Countryman retains the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder, TwinPower Turbo diesel engine, making 112 PS and 270 Nm. The Countryman clocks the 0-100 km sprint in claimed 11.3 seconds and goes on to a top speed of 185 km/h.
Commenting on the occasion Philipp von Sahr, President, BMW Group India said, “MINI is a style icon for trend-setters and has established itself as a unique brand, associated with tradition and irresistible charm. The new MINI Countryman has pursued its path to success both on and off road. Selective design modifications for the exterior and interior along with innovative equipment features contribute to the more mature charisma and increased appeal of the new MINI Countryman. It is a perfect amalgamation of character, space and the ‘go-kart’responsiveness.”
