MINI have brought in the most potent iteration of their Cooper Convertible, the John Cooper Works (JCW).
The new JCW Convertible packs the upgraded motor from the Mini JCW, the TwinPower Turbo 2.0-litre four with 231 PS and 320 Nm: 20 PS more than its predecessor and 39 more than the Cooper S. It’s cleaner too, with claimed fuel efficiency being 15.38 km/l and CO2 emission output rated at 152 g/km. It is available with a six-speed manual transmission, or a six-speed Steptronic automatic, that can hit 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and 6.5 seconds, reductions, when compared to the previous models, of 0.3 seconds and 0.6 seconds respectively.
Still front-wheel driven and boasting the latest in engine and suspension technology for road and track alike, the new JCW Convertible looks just as exciting as the performance it packs. It seats four and can drop its top in just 18 seconds.
The new MINI Cooper Convertible is yet to arrive in India, and we hope to see these two ultimate performance small cars – JCW Cooper and Convertible – arrive shortly after.
