Mercedes-Benz showcased their new E-Class family of luxury cars at the Detroit Motor Show where they also showcased the range topping E-63 AMG.
The new E-Class has received a mid-life makeover with significant changes in design, updated engine options and a host of new features.
The car now gets a new front end with a new bonnet, bumpers and single-lens headlamps, which also pack a cluster of projectors and LEDs. The side and rear end of the car also get subtle changes as well as a revived interior and the cars come with two options for the fascia. Lower trims get a subtle grille with a hood ornament, whereas
the top-of-the-line car gets a sportier grille with a big monogram adorning its centre. Similar engine options have been retained and these include a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8 of the E63 AMG. Diesel options include a 2.1-litre in three versions and the 3.0-litre V6. However, all the engines have been upgraded for higher performance.
Mercedes are also offering many high-tech safety and convenience features as standard. We expect the new E-Class family to arrive in India in the second half of the year.
