The German auto-brand is the byword for luxury in the Indian four-wheeler market. They have now expanded their reach in the country with a new showroom in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This facility houses sales, servicing and spare parts – commonly known as a 3S establishment. Built by Mahavir Motors Vijayawada at an investment of Rs 5 crore, this 20,000 sq. ft. showroom incorporates a four-car display and four service bays.
Speaking at this showroom’s inauguration, Roland Folger, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “Vijayawada is an established industrial city and is fast developing into an emerging market with a strong growth potential for luxury cars. The increasing customer base for Mercedes-Benz in Vijayawada reiterates our confidence in the market, resulting in the creation of a world-class luxury dealership like Mahavir Motors. It was important for Mercedes-Benz to expand its footprint in this important market and introduce the fascination of the Three Pointed Star to our potential customers and enthusiasts in Vijayawada. This is the first dealership that has been set up by our partner Mahavir Motors in Vijaywada, thus fortifying the brand’s presence even further. With a top-class infrastructure in place, we are confident that Mahavir Motors, Vijayawada will be able to successfully tap the potential of the market.”
Folger also spoke of Mercedes-Benz India’s plans for the rest of 2016, saying, “In 2016, we will launch 12 new products, some products without a predecessor and inaugurate 10 new outlets, driving into new markets with a focus on Tier II markets like Vijayawada. We are confident of maintaining our strong performance for the year and aim for a sustainable and profitable business in India. It is emerging markets like Vijayawada that strengthens our belief in the India growth story even more.”
This new showroom means Mercedes-Benz now has 83 imprints in a total of 40 cities across the country.
