The New York International Auto Show had a plethora of exemplary instances from the automobile world on display. One among them was the latest offering from the House of the Trident – the Maserati Ghibli Nerissimo Edition.
Nerissimo is based on the Italian expression for ‘extremely black’. Maserati have decided to keep the Nerissimo in exclusive sports-car circles. Only 450 instances of the car will ever be made. The Nerissimo Edition is available in the Ghibli, Ghibli S and Ghibli S Q4. A badge in the centre of the console acts a constant reminder that you are driving one of 450 cars. All three variants will share features like glossy black finished 20-inch Urano wheels, black door handles, black window trim and black grille features. The interior gets treated with black extended leather upholstery featuring red stitching. The cars also feature INOX sport pedals, red brake callipers, Dark Mirror interior trim, sport seats and a sport steering wheel. The Ghibli S and the Ghibli S Q4 also feature an additional luxury over the Ghibli in the form of the Harman/Kardon audio system.
The addition of ‘Luxury’ and ‘Sport’ packages offer the customers the option of setting the car up to suit their preferences.
The cars continue to be powered by the Ferrari-built, twin-turbo 3.0-litre V6 that produces 410 PS at 5,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 550 Nm between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. The car sprints from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds courtesy of the eight-speed ZF automatic transmission. Read our first drive review of the Maserati Ghibli S Q4 here.
