Mahindra have introduced the new Bolero Power+ in India from Rs 6.59 lakh (ex-showroomi).
The new Bolero Power+ marks the arrival of the new sub-four-metre version of the popular MUV. Of course, with just about 120 millimetres requiring trimming off, Mahindra have managed to take the total length to 3,995 mm and retain the seven-seater layout. The engine requirements have been addressed with the introduction of the ‘Reliable mHawk D70’ engine, which is – and Mahindra aren’t putting it out there – a three-cylinder turbo-diesel unit making 71.4 PS at 3,600 RPM and 195 Nm peaking between 1,400 and 2,200 RPM. Not only does it meet BS-IV requirements, it’s also 13% more powerful and 5% more fuel efficient than the 2.5-litre version.
Mechanically, the Bolero Power+ retains all the suspension parts we’re familiar with independent damped coil springs at the front and leaf springs at the rear, still running a 2,680-mm wheelbase. The engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. It runs 215/75 R15 rubber. You also get a new audio system with Bluetooth connectivity as well as a rear windscreen wiper.
The Bolero Power+ is available in three trim levels: SLE, SLX and ZLX, priced between Rs 6.59 lakh to Rs 7.57 lakh (ex-showroom).
