Lotus have launched the Evora 400 at a starting price of £72,000 (Rs 72 lakh approximately) and will be available for deliveries from August in UK. The Evora 400 is the fastest and lightest car manufactured by Lotus.
The Evora is powered by a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine and puts out 406 PS at 7000 RPM and 410 Nm torque at 3500 RPM. This is all harnessed via a 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic cog box is also available as an option at a price of £2,000(Rs 1.99 lakh). With a kerb weight of 1415 kg, the Evora has lost a substantial 22 kgs over its predecessor and hits triple digit speeds in a matter of 4.2 seconds. Top speed stands at 300 km/h. Aesthetic upgrades include an optional ‘Black Pack’ edition which features distinct body panels and roof and mirror caps along with an all black Lotus logo on the rear.
Commenting at the launch Jean-Marc Gales, CEO, Lotus Cars, said, “We know that the Lotus Evora 400 can deliver the performance of a car costing significantly more and we are conscious that the pricing is highly competitive. Yet, the greatest merit which no other sports car or supercar can deliver is a peerless Lotus driving experience.”
