Porsche have introduced a new long-wheelbase Panamera, called the Executive, in European markets.
A long-wheelbase Panamera was in the offing and, now that it has offed, we have more details. It’s called the ‘Executive’ and now it means something because there’s an extra 150 millimetres of wheelbase and length. So that’s 3,100 mm and 5,199 mm respectively. That frees up much more room in the rear as well as makes it look even sleeker and more shapely, while still looking quite the Porsche. The weight has gone up by a good 100-odd kilogrammes, but given the performance on tap, you won’t notice it; trust us.
Engine choices are four, and all are four-wheel-drive. All four get the new eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) automatic transmission too. There’s a new ‘base’ engine: a 3.0-litre turbo V6 with 330 PS and 450 Nm. The 4S gets the new 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 with 440 PS and 550 Nm. The 4S E-Hybrid gets the 3.0-litre V6 and a 100-kW (136-PS) electric motor for a combined 462 PS and 700 Nm. The top-spec Turbo gets the new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 550 PS and 770 Nm.
The Panamera Executive now strengthens its challenge against the likes of the Maserati Quattroporte and Aston Martin Rapide S, among several long-wheelbase luxury others.
