Škoda India have introduced the facelift Rapid from Rs 8.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

Looking for a sharp new compact family sedan, the new Škoda Rapid should tick all the right boxes. The latest three-box sedan from the Czech major has arrived with an attractive new design, a spruced-up interior and a pair of potent engines under the bonnet, each with a modern automatic transmission option.

The new Rapid packs bold new headlamps with quartz-cut projector combination headlamps and LED running strips. The revised grille makes it look even more like its larger siblings. Inside, there’s new dual-tone upholstery, a central infotainment system called ‘Drive’ and a 6.5-inch colour touchscreen that also includes a USB port, Aux-in, Bluetooth, an SD-card clot and MirrorLink. Further conveniences include powered wing-mirrors, Climatronic auto climate, a cooled glove-box, cruise control, anti-pinch windows, parking sensors, and rain-sensing wipers. The boot, typically Škoda, is a very usable 460 litres.

Škoda haven’t skimped on safety and offer ABS and dual front airbags on every variant of the Rapid. The DSG automatic models also pack Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and the hill-hold function. Škoda have also recently begun revamping their dealer services and modes of customer interaction. The MySkoda App is one such result.

The Škoda Rapid is available in three trim levels across five variants each for petrol and diesel at the below prices (all ex-showroom, Maharashtra):

  • 1.6 MPI Active: Rs 8.35 lakh
  • 1.6 MPI Ambition: Rs 9.27 lakh
  • 1.6 MPI Style: Rs 10.44 lakh
  • 1.6 MPI Ambition AT: Rs 10.39 lakh
  • 1.6 MPI Style AT: Rs 11.46 lakh
  • 1.5 TDI Active: Rs 9.57 lakh
  • 1.5 TDI Ambition: Rs 10.49 lakh

  • 1.5 TDI Ambition AT: Rs 11.71 lakh
