Jaguar have pulled the silks off the new XF at the New York International Auto Show. The new XF is claimed to be the lightest, most efficient car and will offer the least CO2 emissions in its segment. Built around Jaguar’s aluminium-intensive architecture, it claims to be 80 kg lighter than its closest competitors. The four trims of the XF range include the XF Prestige, XF R-Sport, XF Portfolio and XF S. The design of the new XF is more coupé-esque and has a longer wheelbase which has translated in to roomier cabin and improved leg-space.
The new car is being introduced with four engine options: a 163-PS or 180-PS 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel with manual or automatic transmission options. In addition to these two, a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel putting out 300 PS will also be available. At the top of the lot will be the 380-PS, supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol. We also expect to see the 240-PS 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine from the current XF being used on the new car. If and when the car makes it to Indian shores is still unsure, but when it does we will be here to tell you all about it.
