Infiniti_1_webInfiniti, Nissan’s premium automotive division, has opened their first showroom in Hong Kong to further their growth in the South-East Asian market.

The company had moved their global headquarters to Hong Kong a year ago, giving them access to the burgeoning luxury market in China. Infiniti have been partnering the Red Bull Racing team since 2011, but have stepped up their participation in 2013, becoming the team’s title sponsor. They company have also signed up Red Bull Racing F1 driver Sebastian Vettel as their Director of Performance.

Infiniti is heading towards a global presence and their expansion plan looks strong. Brand awareness from exposure through Formula 1 with the leading team at the moment plays no small part. Infiniti have a range of models, many of which would fit perfectly into a country’s popular list. The Q50 sedan is their answer to the Mercedes E-Class, BMW 5 series, Audi A6 and others like the Jaguar XF and Volvo S80. Their crossover line-up is equally potent and considering their range of refined petrol and diesel engines, they could well make their presence felt in India.

Toyota have long stated their intentions to bring their Lexus brand of luxury cars into India, but have yet to make a move in that regard. What’s interesting is that Nissan could leap-frog them into breaking into the market and provide a Japanese take on premium luxury to battle it out with the established manufacturers. The company website also states that “Infiniti is not yet available in India”. Whichever way you look at it, they should be here soon.Infiniti_2_webInfiniti_3_web
