Fiat’s new hatch is priced from Rs 4 lakh onwards
Â
After tasting success with the Linea, FIAT India launched the Grande Punto, its first all-new hatchback after the Palio in the Indian market. Like its sedan counterpart, the Punto also comes in three trim levels namely Active, Dynamic and Emotion with an optional package that will include FIAT’s Blue & Me technology with steering mounted controls, alloy wheels and front airbags.
The base Active model will come with a 1.2-litre petrol unit while the higher end Dynamic and Emotion variants will be equipped with a more powerful 1.4-litre motor that does duty on the Linea as well. For those who want the fuel economy of a diesel, FIAT’s award winning 1.3-litre Multijet engine is on offer too (again with three trim levels) and will be the obvious choice. This little hatchback has been the Italian manufacturer’s bestseller around the world and has also helped FIAT come out of the red. The Punto will be one of the safest cars on Indian roads with a certified EURO NCAP rating of five stars!
