A Ford GT has recorded an unprecedented top speed of 278.2 mph (447.7 km/h) at the Texas Mile Beeville.
The Ford GT has always been a desirable supercar with a price tag which doesn’t require you to consider robbing a bank. But while it is rather affordable, it isn’t nearly as practical as you would expect. What it is though, we are sure, is an absolute hoot to drive.
Watch the action below as the GT snaps, crackles and pops its way up the runway, before disappearing into the haze. The end result from the wild supercharged V8 was 278.2mph, or 447.7 km/h – a new Texas Mile Beeville record.
