Home / News / First glimpse of the Honda S660 Concept

Honda_S660_Concept_web_1The spiritual successor of the massive cult favourite S2000, Honda have lifted the lid off this, their latest minimalist sports car.

The S660 Concept convertible will make its world début at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, and according to Honda, will be mass produced in the future.

This snazzy little concept seems to draw inspiration from many quarters – As mentioned earlier, it appears to be the heir apparent to the S2000, its visual and design elemnts are very nearly akin to Honda’s electric EV-ster concept that made its first appearance way back in 2011. Furthermore, it follows the same design philosophy as the recently unveiled Honda (Acura is the US) NSX concept II. Finally, the S660 moniker, if it is in fact following in the footsteps of the S2000, indicates that the car will boast a turbocharged 660cc engine.

While the engine size may not tickle everyone’s fancy, judging by the size of the car, and its reported weight of paltry 900kg approximately, it should be a fun, zippy drive. More details will be forthcoming by the 20th of November, and expect Honda to release the vital statistics of this charming little 2-door then.
