Hot on the unveil of the all-new 2 Series; BMW and their M division have revealed performance parts and upgrades for the new coupé.
M Performance parts will not only offer a series of styling touch-ups for an edgier, sportier and more athletic look, but will also offer some serious performance bits for the drivetrain, aerodynamics, suspension and the cabin. These will not only bring a change in the look and feel of the car, but also aim to help customers individualise their car.
For diesel buyers, there’s more good news ,the M Performance Power Kit upgrade on the 220d Coupé will also mean a higher output: 200 PS (up from 184) and 420 Nm (up from 380), from the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder TwinPower Turbo diesel motor. This decreases sprint times, but leaves fuel economy and exhaust emission figures unchanged. That’s just dandy.
Meanwhile, the M235i Coupé gets tuned-up suspension lowered 20 millimetres, and also includes a torque-sensitive mechanical limited-slip differential in the rear axle – that’s a mouthful – and it does quite a bit of work too; managing the torque split between the rear wheels for optimum distribution, to get you out of a corner quicker, or safer, as the case may be. You also have a choice of red or yellow painted brake callipers and 19” forged light alloy wheels wrapped in perfectly complementing rubber.
