Chevrolet previewed their all-new MY2017 Cruze in hatchback form ahead of its début at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The new Cruze sedan styling was revealed earlier, and now it’s time for the hatch to grab some of the spotlight. We doubt whether the hatchback will make it here, but what we can tell you is that the sedan will have the same face. The sharp new front grille and large air-dam are reminiscent of the bigger Camaro, while the wraparound headlamps look smart too, with their LED signatures and reflector design standing out from the rest. The wheelbase is the same as the sedan at 2,700 mm. Boot space is an impressive 524 litres, with the second row up too.
The hatchback débuts a new era of connectivity for the company with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available via MyLink, with 4G connectivity and a Wi-Fi hotspot also on the equipment list.
At the heart is a 1.4-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine with 154 PS and 240 Nm. A VCDi diesel should be available in India, likely to be the same 2.0-litre motor with 166 PS and 380 Nm. A choice of manual and automatic transmissions should be on offer as well.
