It seems quite the trend for most car manufacturers to take their latest products out for a spin around the Nürburgring these days, more so if they manage to break a record while they’re at it.
Just like every other production spec. four wheeler out there, the Alfa Romeo 4C also enjoyed its moment in the sun, as it took on the daunting Nordschleife or ‘north loop’ of the famed Nürburgring, also referred to as ‘The Green Hell’.
The 4C actually managed to set a new record with the respectable timing of 8mins 4seconds it achieved, chalking up the fastest lap for any car around the Nordschleife with an output of under 250 PS. This chart topping run was made possible thanks to the 4C’s four cylinder 1.75-litre direct injection, turbocharged petrol engine, providing an output of 240 PS and 350 Nm of torque. This allows the car a rapid 0-100 km/h acceleration of only 4.5 seconds, and a top speed of 257 km/h. The little speedster has also incorporated some cutting edge technology including an ALFA TCT dry twin-clutch transmission, and the signature Alfa DNA configuration option with its newest addition, race mode.
