e2o_Pune_webMahindra & Mahindra have finally launched the e2o in Pune.

The next-generation of the electric car in India has been launched at Rs 6.70 lakh, ex-showroom. Mahindra is looking at producing 6,000 units of the car this year. It will be sold through existing Mahindra dealerships.

Mahindra has selected 8 cities for the first phase of the launch including New Delhi, Bangalore, Kochi and Pune. The company also intends to have a charging infrastructure in place to improve user experience. At present, the company has a target of 8 charging point locations within Pune. Charging points are also being setup in Hinjewadi and Hadapsar at Tech Mahindra. 100 each will be present in Delhi and Bangalore with over 200 total points across India in the first phase of implementation. Mumbai, Chandigarh and Ahmedabad are the next cities in line for the launch. Currently, the e2o is available in 28 dealerships across India. Mahindra is also working on solar charging points which can be installed at home by vehicle owners.

The new e2o will offer better travel range and be more user-friendly as well. Mahindra is offering a warranty of 3 years/60,000 km on the e2o. The company is tying up with Vodafone to help users stay connected to the car via their smartphones, in order to make keeping track of important car information a breeze.
