Lamborghini pull the wraps off the new Aventador LP750-4 Superveloce in Geneva.
There are two kinds of Lamborghinis: V10s and V12s. While there are two essential base cars, each variation is as exceptional as the next and while the Huracán spawned an LP620-2 and a GT3, the Aventador managed a Roadster and an LP720-4 50º Anniversario. Now, though, following the hardest-core lineage of their big cars, Sant’Agata has given the world their latest SV, or Superveloce – the Aventador LP750-4
The Aventador’s most powerful guise pushes the envelope for naturally-aspirated V12s with its major competitor – the Ferrari F12berlinetta – pumping out 740 PS and 690 Nm from its naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre motor. The peak 750 PS now comes in at 8,400 RPM with the unchanged peak torque of 690 Nm coming in at 5,500 RPM.
The 50-PS increase and 50-kg weight reduction from the standard car translates to a power-to-weight ratio of 492 PS/tonne. The aerodynamics on the other hand have seen a 150% increase in efficiency with a 170% increase in downforce (thank to the big rear wing in no small measure). All of that means a quicker 0-100 km/h dash of 2.8 seconds, with a top speed more than the earlier top speed of ‘more than 350 km/h’.
Will the SV make it to India? Of course it will. The thing is, with the standard car costing about Rs 5.4 crore in Maharashtra, the LP750-4 SV will carry an even more demanding tag.
