Volvo Auto India have launched the V40 Cross Country in T4 turbo-petrol guise at Rs 27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The V40 Cross Country was thus far offered only with the D3 diesel engine. The new T4 marks the entry of the new Drive-E range of petrol engines in the V40. The T4 is a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol uses turbocharging and direct injection to deliver 180 PS and 240 Nm of torque. The V40 XC T4, like the D3, will be front-wheel driven, with the six-speed Geartronic automatic continuing to do duty.
With the Mercedes-Benz GLA 200 being the only petrol compact crossover on offer – Audi having withdrawn the Q3 TFSI, and MINI not having a petrol Countryman – the V40 XC will provide the only battle in this space, unless you don’t throw the Honda CR-V in the mix of this battle of the brands, that is.
Look forward to our detailed road test review of the new Volvo V40 Cross Country T4 soon.
