Volvo Auto India held the first press conference under the leadership of its new Managing Director, Tomas Ernberg,
with the aim of launching three new variants of its luxury sedan S80, premium sedan S60 and luxury compact SUV XC60, with an all new 2.5 L Turbo Diesel D3 engine.
The new D3 promises new NVH (noise, vibration and harshness) and claims an improved fuel efficiency of 18.5kpl for the S60, 17.8kpl for the S80, and 14.7kpl for the XC60. The D3 is capable of developing 165.2PS and a torque output of 400Nm for all three vehicles.
Volvo Auto India gives high priority to safety, emphasized by the strategy, “Designed around you.” Laser assisted Automatic Braking, standard across variants, is a concept where in case of loss of attention by the driver, the car can automatically brake up to a speed of 30 kmph.
