Last month we brought you the fi rst drive of the new Toyota Corolla Altis, highlighting all its new features, and now the Japanese carmakers have offi cially launched the sedan in India.
The changes include new, more powerful 2ZR Dual VVTi, 1,798-cc engine, new seven-speed CVTi replacing the four-speed ‘box and a six-speed manual transmission for the petrol variants.
The new petrol engine is capable of generating an increased output of 140 PS at 6,400 rpm and an improved torque of 173 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The price bracket for the petrol variant is Rs 10,53,300 to Rs 14,77,400 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).
The diesel variant retains its D-4D engine mated to the six-speed manual transmission. The diesel version would be offered in a price nrange of Rs 11,46,500 to Rs 14,55,000 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). For further details read the complete road test of this car in this issue.
