One of the most influential GM cars from their Aussie stablemate, the Monaro, simply known as the VXR8 in some markets (Vauxhall in Britain), was one of the better performing high-performance cars, fast not just in a straight line, but also through the corners; capable of quite a smoke-fest, too, at times. Besides, few GM cars can take on the likes of a BMW M3 or Mercedes-AMG C 63 and hold their head high.
