Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 launched in Asia
Italian supercar maker Lamborghini launched their latest exotica, the Aventador LP700-4 in Asia at the Auto Shanghai 2011in China.
The Aventador is the replacement of their best seller, the Murceilago and looks like it will continue the tradition; Lamborghini has already received bookings exceeding their 18- month production capacity for the car of which India accounts for over 12! But the most important Asian market for Lamborghini currently is China where they have experienced a 150% growth last year! The car has a 6.5 litre 60 degree V12 engine producing 700PS of power and 690Nm of torque. The ultra light weight materials used to make the car, like the carbon-fibre monocoque, have managed to keep its weight at just 1,575kg, propelling it to a speed of 100kmph in a claimed 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 350kmph! Along with the Aventador, Lamborghini also launched the Gallardo LP550-2 Tricolore, which is painted white, with front to end stripes in the Italian flag colours as a tribute to its Italian heritage.
