Tata are venturing into the automotive market down under, and have commemorated this move with the reveal of a new ‘Tuff Truck’ Concept and it looks monstrous – in a good way.
Tata have basically taken the Xenon 4-door pick-up and given it a massive steroid injection. The Tuff Truck sports a sharp new body kit, which includes reworked front and rear bumpers and a hood scoop, enormous, edgy-looking 20-inch alloys that demand instant attention, and a quartet of cab-top fog lamps.
Tata and their distribution partners for Australia, Fusion Automotive, developed this car as a joint effort, and the design was overlooked by Julian Quincey, chief designer of Holden Special Vehicles (HSV). The upgrade in the looks department however isn’t complemented with morepower though as it contains the same 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine that the original production Xenon runs.
Tata haven’t decided whether or not this car will actually be produced en masse, as of right now this tasty concept is just Tata’s way of announcing their arrival in the Australian automotive sphere, and judging by how the car looks, it’s safe to say that their arrival will be duly noted.
