Chevrolet have recently announced that they will launch the Trailblazer SUV in India this October. One of our readers caught this test mule on candid camera
Story: Team Car India
In a surprise move, General Motors recently announced a US$ 1 billion investment in India and with it, they also revealed that the company would be launching the Chevrolet Trailblazer this October, just in time to catch the festive season. Close on the heels of that announcement, one of our readers have shared images of this ill-camouflaged test unit. Apart from the exterior images, which amply demonstrate that this is going to be one big butch SUV, he also shared an image of the interiors of this soon-to-be-launched vehicle.
From what can be seen in the image of the seven-seater Trailblazer’s interior, the vehicle will boast a good quality cabin with an in-vogue dual colour trim. Fit and finish seem quite good and there’s decent quantities of leather to be had as well. The neat centre stack is kitted out with a big touch-screen infotainment system and a large rotary knob that appears to be for the air-conditioning controls. Our guess is that Chevy will provide an auto climate control unit for a vehicle in this segment. What can also be seen clearly is an automatic transmission.
Although GM are being tight lipped about the India-spec vehicle, the Trailblazer that will be launched in India is likely to use Chevrolet’s 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine, which is used to power the Trailblazer in other South East Asian markets. The unit puts out a maximum of 200 PS and 500 Nm of peak torque.
Stay tuned for more updates on the Chevrolet Trailblazer.
