Now the company offers the Fluence (diesel) with the same trim as in the petrol variant
Renault began their Indian operations by launching two good but expensive products in 2011. One of them was the gorgeous looking Fluence. This French sedan with its classy appeal was launched with petrol and diesel engines, but the trim levels in the two cars differed. Whereas the petrol Fluence came with goodies that proclaimed it to be a premium car inside as well as outside, the diesel one had a few things knocked off that list, which meant that you could not get the same trim as the petrol car even if you were willing to pay extra for it. The upshot was that diesel Fluence buyers had to be content with the basic things.
However, now it seems that Renault have paid heed to the demands of potential buyers and have introduced the Fluence diesel in the same top-of-the-line trim as the petrol sedan. Although technical specifications such as the motor, transmission, suspension and chassis remain unchanged, changes have been made in areas such as comfort and convenience, interior, exterior, audio and safety. In all 14 new things have been added/ modified as compared to the basic diesel Fluence.
This new variant is called the E4 Fluence dci and the list of changes reads as follows: chromed trim on window sill and boot lid and rain-sensing wipers on the exterior, leather upholstery and leather-wrapped steering wheel in the interior, dual zone automatic climate control with rear air-conditioner vents, automatic headlamp, rear parking sensors, cruise control speed limiter, rear sun blinds, electrically collapsible mirrors with temperature sensors, ElectroChrome rear-view mirror, USB with aux-in, Bluetooth connectivity and side airbags.
The E4 Fluence (diesel) costs Rs 14.78 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune), almost Rs 1.5 lakh more than the base E2 diesel variant.
