Stylish off-roader all set to appear in Indian market
HINDUSTAN MOTORS AND MITSUBISHI are fi nally on the verge of launching the Pajero Sport in the Indian market.
The first news of the SUV coming to our shores was heard more than six months ago, but with the cost factor playing a crucial role and the value of the Indian rupee falling down, the company had to withhold the plan, localise the vehicle as much as possible and make it an affordable proposition for Indian customers.
The Pajero Sport will come equipped with a 2.5-litre diesel engine that produces 135 PS of maximum power and 314 Nm of peak torque. Its massive torque along with Mitsubishi’s proven Super Select 4WD and tall ground clearance of 215 mm will bequeath excellent off-roading capabilities to the Pajero Sport.
An additional attraction of the Pajero Sport for the Indian market is that it comes with three rows of seats, which means that it is now a seven-seater SUV. Aggressive styling, great utility and hard-to-beat off-road potential of this Mitsubishi will work wonders for the company if the price is right, which is yet to be disclosed.
