Dacia, the parent of the popular Duster, and part of the Renault-Nissan alliance, hae unveiled the new model which will be presented at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show.
The new model brings in many features which take it several steps ahead while still retaining the design which made it so successful in the first place. The front end gets a redesigned grille, a lower-set air intake and new double-optic headlights with daytime running lights. With these upgrades, the Duster’s stance and robust character are even more pronounced. The ‘Duster’-labeled roof bars underline the car’s SUV character, as do the new 16-inch ‘Dark Metal’ alloy wheels wrapped in ‘mud and snow’ tyres.
On the power front, we expect the 1.5-litre dCi diesel engine, the venerable K9K, to continue doing duty in front wheel drive form with both 85 PS and 110 PS outputs. However, we cannot resist thinking about the possibility of the all-wheel-drive version also making its way here; a configuration available in European markets. Either way, we expect the new model to make its debut in India early next year with a similar or just slightly altered price tag.
