The Nashik based auto major renames Logan
As Renault gears up to debut solo in India, its former Indian partner – Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), issued a press note announcing that the Logan, which was a sedan launched by the JV, will now be called the Verito.
Now that Renault and M&M have parted ways, the Verito will sport the Mahindra badge and emblem, instead of the Renault logo it carried earlier.
There were rumours that M&M is working on modifying the sedan so that it comes under the 4-metre bracket, so that the Nashik based firm could avail the excise benefit. Currently the Verito is available with a 1.4-litre petrol engine and a very efficient 1.5-litre oil-burner priced between Rs 5.40 lakh to Rs 6.78 lakh OTR, Pune.
