Mahindra & Mahindra have introduced a new Scorpio trim level as well as launched a refreshed Xylo.
The recently launched new Scorpio brought in new trim names as well, with the S10 being the top of the line. The new S4+ is the S4 trim level with more safety kit, adding ABS with EBD and front airbags, at a more affordable price tag. The S4+ also gets a seat-belt reminder, panic-braking indicator and follow-me-home headlamps. The 4×4 option is now available only with the S4+, and not the S4 as it was earlier at launch of the SUV. The Scorpio S4+ will cost about Rs 1 lakh more. Either way, it’s good to see the company focussed on the safety aspect, with awareness about occupant safety and that of other road users gaining more importance by the day.
The Xylo meanwhile gets a cosmetic touch here and there, with a chrome strip on the front grille, body graphics on the side and the rear, new beige-and-black interior, a 60:40 split third row, and updated suspension bits. The shock absorbers get polyurethane bushings in place of the old rubber units. The stabiliser bar up front is now thicker and the rear setup also gets one. This is all set to counter body-roll, says the company. The refreshed Xylo is now available in showrooms. Price remains the same for the popular MUV.
