The Lamborghini Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive Spyder has been launched for the Indian market today. The EVO RWD Spyder is a convertible variant of the Huracan and the main highlights of this new model are a lightweight body, rear-wheel drive capability, and a specially tuned Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS).

The 5.2 Litre, V10 engine in the EVO RWD Spyder puts out 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque which is the same as the coupé version. The car can achieve a top speed of 324 km/h and sprint 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds. Lamborghini says that the Spyder is an instinctive driver’s car, delivering a fun-to-drive experience via hardware rather than software. India’s first Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive Spyder with the Blu Sideris colour scheme was delivered today.

The Spyder features an aluminum and thermoplastic resin body that sits on a lightweight hybrid chassis in aluminum and carbon fiber. The car has a a dry weight of 1,509 kg and a weight-to-power ratio of 2.47 kg/hp. Complimenting the light weight of the Spyder are the lines on the exterior that ensure drag reduction and downforce which matches that of the coupé without requiring additional aerodynamic aids while enhancing the rear-wheel-drive car’s balance and dynamism with roof both up and down.

The specially tuned P-TCS traction control system has been designed to offer thrilling performance in all conditions, consistently delivering torque and assuring traction even as the Spyder is realigning after sharp cornering or drifting. The three driving modes (Strada, Sport, and Corsa) can be selected via the ANIMA button on the steering wheel. Each of these modes has been calibrated to give the driver a new experience. Strada mode provides stability and safety in all conditions by minimizing rear-wheel slippage, and more proactively managing torque delivery on low-adhesion surfaces. In Sport mode, the driver enjoys drifting fun, allowing the rear wheels to slide and skate during acceleration, with torque limited when oversteer angles increase rapidly so the driver can stabilize and control the car. Corsa mode optimizes the car’s traction and agility when exiting a corner in high-performance conditions, maximizing dynamics and speed.

As Huracán EVO RWD Spyder features a fun-to-drive experience, it definitely adds vitality to the super sports cars market in India as reflected in the increasing number of supercar aficionados.”

Sharad Agarwal, Head of Lamborghini India, said, “India is one of the strategic markets for Lamborghini and we consistently invest to create unique bespoke experiences for our customers. Today is no exception as we deliver the Huracán EVO Rear-Wheel Drive Spyder to one of our discerning clients.
