Coming to India this year
Volkswagen is well settled in India and is now spreading its wings to the various segments of the market.
The Polo and Vento are doing well and we have tested the new generation Passat this month. Next up, VW is replacing the Jetta sedan. We drove the New Jetta in the US last August and were quite impressed with it. It has the distinct VW family nose and a strong design learning from the Audi A4 at the back. It is bigger in size and has more upmarket looks. Which variants of the TDI and TFSI engines will make their way to India is however, unknown. The Jetta will stand against Hyundai Sonata, Maruti Suzuki’s Kizashi and the Skoda Laura. The Jetta will be the next big launch from VW this year but only in the second half of this year, taking into consideration the Passat’s arrival.
