Volvo and Heico Sportiv to debut bio diesel powered V40 race car

German custom builders Heico Sportiv has come up with a racecar version of Volvo’s V40 sportwagon that runs on biodiesel. The modified V40 will take part in the Nürburgring 24 hour race next year besides serving as a preview bed for the range of modifications that the company will be offering buyers on the new V40. The Heico-tuned V40 is powered by an uprated 2.4-litre 5-cylinder diesel engine with a maximum power figure of 305 PS.

Other race mods include a front splitter, rear diffuser and a big rear wing, full aro kit, complete with flared wheel arches, exhaust, suspension and rolling stock have also been upgraded, capped by a version of Volvo’s five cylinder turbo diesel monster tuned to produce a staggering 300 horsepower on bio diesel fuel.

The public debut of the V40 racer is scheduled at the upcoming auto show in Leipzig, Germany.
