Ford have finally launched the EcoSport compact crossover in the country and have revealed the pricing for its new market buster.
The company have already produced a sizeable number of cars in anticipation of demand. The EcoSport is being offered in four variants: Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium (O). The top-end variants pack in an extensive list of equipment, entertainment and safety technology, while even the entry-level variant brings in a good amount of kit including power steering, air-conditioning, dual tone interiors, remote central locking, electric wing mirrors with integrated indicators, front power windows, theatre-style dimming interior lights, Bluetooth radio with Aux-in and USB connectivity.
The EcoSport will be offered in 8 colour options with a choice of 3 engine options: a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol making 109 PS and 140 Nm of torque; a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel with 91 PS and 204 Nm; and the award-winning EcoBoost 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol with 125 PS and 170 Nm, offering the power of a 1.6-litre engine and the efficiency of a small car. A five-speed manual transmission is standard and drives the front wheels. Ford’s PowerShift six-speed, twin-clutch automatic transmission is also available on the top-end 1.5-litre petrol model.
The pricing, which starts from Rs 5.59 lakh, is indeed very competitive. All prices listed are ex-showroom, Delhi.

With the EcoSport, Ford aims to not only capture the market of compact crossovers by providing a viable and more affordable alternative to the Renault Duster, but also give those planning on purchasing top-end hatchbacks something larger to consider.
