MITSUBISHI ARE PLANNING TO introduce a diesel engine option for their stylish SUV, the Outlander.
Currently the Outlander comes with a 2,360-cc, four-cylinder petrol engine mated with a six-speed CVT transmission. We may expect a two-litre diesel engine with a six-speed manual as well as automatic transmission options.
Yoshiaki Wada, Head (Marketing and Channel Development), HM-Mitsubishi, confi rmed the development of a diesel engine for the Outlander. “Not so soon as R&D is required and hence it will take time,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi are also lining up the Pajero’s sports variant for India. Although the upcoming Auto Expo would seem to be the best time to unveil it, the company is still busy contemplating the time for its launch without affecting the sales of the Pajero SFX.
