The Bavarian Coupe-styled SUV has been evolved into its third generation, and is arriving in India on 11 June.
BMW India’s official Instagram handle confirmed the upcoming launch date, which was pushed back due to the pandemic. Dealers had even started taking booking amounts for the new X6 before the pandemic struck, and now the German brand is ready to go ahead with the big launch. The BMW India website has listed two trims for the X6 – xLine and M Sport. Furthermore, the expectation is that BMW will only bring one of their engine offerings to India – the 3.0-litre six-pot turbo-petrol 40i option. So, to start with at least, you can only get the X6 in India with this 340 hp engine churning out 450 Nm of torque. The transmission on offer will be the brand’s eight-speed auto and driving all four wheels thanks to the xDrive system.
The BMW X6 will come in via the CBU route, and as usual, the luxury brand will offer a slew of colour options, interior trims and other bits and bobs to ensure that you can make the BMW X6 that you buy completely your own. The new BMW X6 is expected to carry a price tag of Rs 1 crore, but we’ll have confirmation once the launch takes place on the 11th.
