Bentley_Continental_GT_V8_S_1_webBentley have added an even more powerful engine option for customers of their Continental GT luxury grand tourer.

The new V8 S specification engine is available on both the Continental GT fixed-roof and Convertible models. It offer more power and torque than the standard model with absolutely no increase in weight or proportions. This has been achieved by tuning up the twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 engine.

The output figures now read 528 PS and 680 Nm of torque, up from the 507 PS and 660 Nm that the standard-spec V8 engine offers. This also means that the torque output is even closer to the W12 model, which puts out 700 Nm, but a considerably higher 575 PS. The increase in performance as a result of the added grunt is evident in the numbers the new car is capable of delivering: 0-100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds and the top speed is 309 km/h. The Convertible takes 0.2 seconds longer to 100 km/h and has a top speed of 308 km/h.

The distinguishing features between the V8 and V8 S models, apart from the badging on the front fenders, are the 20” alloy wheels which are offered as standard kit on the S models. The S models also enjoy two signature paint shades – Kingfisher Blue and Monaco Yellow. Customers may also tailor the specification car to suit their exact taste. An optional Mulliner Driving Specification is also available. Deliveries of the new cars will begin in early 2014.
