Our test car came with a six-seat configuration. The Q7 has always scored high, like any other Audi, on the quality of interiors. Space on the inside, given its generous exterior dimensions is never compromised. Cup holders, bottle holders, 12 Volt outlets and other modern essentials are in abundant supply. When we tested the updated Audi Q7 3.0 TDI a few months ago, we were sold due to its overall prowess in various fields. It looks smashing, offers oodles of ego boost for its occupants, it is luxurious and spacious on the inside with a refined and an exceptionally well performing diesel mill. The 4.2 TDI behaves and impresses us in the same way. It’s thoroughly capable engine cannot be ignored, especially when you are aware of its tyre shredding capabilities and sheer bragging rights. But, should you be willing to shell out an extra Rs 5.28 lakh (that’s a limited period offer, shell out Rs 12.7 lakh extra after that!) over the 3.0 TDI model just for the performance and ear to ear grinning? Yes, for there are always people out there who want the biggest toys. In that case, I wouldn’t talk you down if the 4.2 TDI sounds appealing even if it is seen as a pure overkill by many.
