The 24-hours of LeMans saw Audi take victory once again as their e-tron quattro hybrid racer took it’s second successive victory in the gruelling event.
The #2 car driven by Frenchman, Loic Duval, Danish driver Tom Kristensen and Scot Allan McNish took top honours.
The victory came following a change in the regulations which was made at short notice. The three Audi R18 e-tron quattro cars, on average, were able to go two laps less on a single tank than their main rivals from Toyota. The Audi drivers had to compensate for the additional pit stops by faster lap times on track, with weather conditions that at times were extremely difficult.
This was Audi’s twelfth win at the famous LeMans 24-hours endurance race and also one of the most difficult and hardest-fought ones.
